On a positive note, every one of our the senior riders wanted to participate in the Team Omnium format, which suggests to me that people like this Encino Velodrome original format. Fortunately, we were able to pair every rider without a team with an existing team for the team omnium. And many thanks to the teams that welcomed guest riders.
Teams were fielded by: Veloworx (two teams), Southbay Wheelmen, Encino Velo, RPM, Hi-Tech Bikes/Echelon Santa Barbara (teams combined) and PAA. These teams battled it out for $500 in cash (first place was $200).
Teams included up to four riders. Riders scored Omnium points for there team. Up to two riders from each team competed in two points races, 15-lap scratch, miss and out, tempo and a 2K team pursuit. There was also a Madison. Several races were slated back-to-back purposely to favor larger teams (to discourage two man teams).
